Come and escape in our “Oasis” condo at Amelia Landings! Nestled in a grove of 100 year old live oak trees draped in Spanish moss, is your first floor two bedroom / 2 bath private villa. We have attempted to supply you with all you need for a fabulous stay on our lovely island. Our condo is tastefully decorated and boasts bleached maple hardwood floors throughout the main living areas and bedrooms with sea foam green ceramic tile in the kitchens and bathrooms to give it a real beach feeling. Beautiful lighting throughout with top-notch ceiling fans in both bedrooms, the dining room and on the screened-in lanai. The beds are very high quality with mattress toppers and 400+ thread count Egyptian cotton linens. The comforters come from Pottery Barn and Garnet Hill.
Our place offers a host of amenities including 4 (free of charge!) beach cruisers (two single speed and two 6-speed bikes) complete with helmets and locks. We have supplied two tennis racquets and a can of balls. We offer pool noodles, a pool float and several small boogie boards for the little ones. We have included 4+ beach chairs, 2 beach umbrellas and a big wheeled beach cart to tote them across the sand. A handy cooler with large wheels makes it a breeze to get your cold beverages and snacks onto the beach. There are several fine and family-style restaurants on the beach or within a short walking distance from both the beach and the condo, as well as a fabulous ice cream shack. There is a surf shop and a beach rental shop across the street from the beach.
The kitchen has spectacular all solid wood maple shaker style cabinets and is fully stocked including everything you would expect including a coffee maker, blender, basic cooking spices & supplies, stainless steel pots & pans and of course dishes, cups, glasses, wine glasses, flatware, cooking, baking and storage accessories. The living room has a very comfortable full sized couch as well as a matching love seat to relax in while reading or watching the new HD flat screen TV. There is premium cable service in both the living room & master bed room which each have internet connectivity and access to a FREE Netflix account. It has a DVD player in the living room. The high speed internet is upgraded to provide Xfinity performance class connectivity both wired and via secure wireless. We have a beginning collection of books, puzzles, games and DVD’s for your downtime from the beach or pool.
Our villa measures 815 square feet with an open floor plan connecting the kitchen, dining and living areas. It is on the first floor of a three-story building closest to the fishing pond (catch and release). An olympic sized swimming pool, tennis court and picnic/grill area are located one building away. The condo is elevated five steps from ground level and does not have a ramp (it is NOT handicap accessible). Amelia Landings is a pet-free community so no pets are allowed on the premises. We have a strict No Smoking policy (severe allergies…). There is ample free parking.
The rich history and natural beauty of Amelia Island begs of you to indulge in the creation of memories that will last a lifetime. This is why we manifested this get-away. The miles of pristine beaches, spectacular parks, clear, calm Atlantic waters and quaint charm has lured generations of travelers to Amelia Island. Our family is no exception.
Access to the beach from Amelia Landings is a short 5-7 minute stroll down a private path to 1st Ave and a public access entrance. There is a small free parking area if you prefer not to walk or you may choose to drop the family off if the lot is full (weekends are particularly busy and it can fill up early) and ride a beach cruiser back to the beach. Although we set the villa up as a retreat for our family and friends to escape to (our 13 year old loves to surf) many families with youngsters, groups of golfers and friends getting away for a long weekend have found it to be perfect as well.
Amelia Island is consistently rated in the top 10 island vacation destinations and was a US.Travelers Choice 2013 Winner (#9), “Amelia Island loves a (family-friendly) party! The small Sea Island is particularly well known for two annual festivals: the Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance and the Isle of Eight Flags Shrimp Festival. But there’s plenty to do year-round. Hit the beach for some water sports, explore the island on horseback, take in a show at a community theater or just wander around the charming historic district. The Amelia Island Museum of History offers educational walking tours, including a spooky Ghost Tour that will give you delicious chills.” The Family Vacation Critic (#8), “Nestled off the coast of northeastern Florida, just over the border from Georgia, [Amelia Island] is the last of the southern barrier islands that are made up of pristine, dune-filled beaches. Four major state parks and a national park are within reach of this quiet, preserved stretch of land where hiking, biking, horseback riding and camping helps your family escape our technology-filled world. There’s history here, as well, with Fort Clinch reminding of Florida’s place in the Civil and Spanish American Wars. Moss-draped, centuries-old oaks pave the way into Fernandina Beach, a historic town filled with boutiques and homes. Amelia Island has a mild climate throughout most of the year, growing hot and humid in the summer months, which makes ideal weather for canoeing, kayaking and sailing.”
